(L-R) Actor Sarah Snook, Director Zak Hilditch, Actors Angourie Rice, Nathan Phillips & Kathryn Beck, Producer Liz Kearney, Executive Producer Robert Connolly on the red carpet at Melbourne International Film Festival for the world premiere of Australian Feature Film, These Final Hours!!

I am so incredibly lucky and proud to be able to say that I had the honour of Costume Designing Australian Feature Film, These Final Hours. The film made it’s world debut on Friday night at MIFF to rave reviews. I was really excited to think that because I hadn’t seen any cuts I would be able to be very objective with my opinion of the final cut, however I was clearly WAY too close to the project to watch it like a general viewer and the whole time focused on the costume continuity. In saying that though, it was SO cool to see it on the big screen and the audience reaction was insanely positive! People LOVED it and during the Q&A it was clear that Liz & Zak have made a very exciting contribution to the Australian film industry. Every single actor nailed their performances and I look forward to it making waves both in Australia and Internationally upon its 2014 release….

The rave reviews have started coming in...

These Final Hours Director Zak Hilditch & Producer Liz Kearney. What a hot duo! Proud to call these two good friends 🙂

Working on this film is by far the most fun job I have ever been paid for to date and working in film has given me a new lease on life. To go from fashion styling to costume design is not as easy as it may seem, film is INCREDIBLY challenging, even more than fashion is, but that is precisely what I love about it! I Certainly love me a good challenge and I definitely could not have done it without the help of my remarkable team – Lauren Widdicombe (Costume Assistant and Art Finisher), Danielle Miller (Costume Standby), Nicole Ferraro (Costume Buyer), Amy Clark (Art Finisher), Holly Mumford (Accessories), Lorraine Koh (Party Costume Attachment), Natalie Allen (Party Costume Volunteer) and Natasha Tchacos (Party Costume Attachment) with special thanks to Louise Bond of Bikini Atoll Swimwear for providing hundreds upon hundreds of RAD bathers for our End Of The World Party and – now much sought after togs – for almost every character in the film. Every single person who sees the film asks me about ‘those blue bathers’ Kathryn Beck wears in the bunker. Just you wait to see why.

A regram from Sarah Snook’s instagram. Me with the gang. I’m wearing the incredible Australian label, One Fell Swoop with a necklace gifted to me by Morgan Marks courtesy of Claremont Quarter. Thanks so much to Daniel and Nina of OFS for dressing me for such an important event in my career!!! Hopefully more official pics from MIFF to come.

These Final Hours will have its WA premiere at Southwest Film Festival, CinefestOZ in late August…

SV pushes the media aside for a snap of Sarah, Nathan, Kalliope & Angourie

We had a ‘baby’ in our film! There was a swear jar on our costume bus and everything haha. Nathan was such a supportive gentleman with her and it was rather gorgeous to watch the two together on set as their undeniable bond grew and grew. What a talented pair and very special little girl. Love you Angourie!

The girls pose for SV at The Forum before our screening. The Forum is SUCH a cool venue, so much like Moulin Rouge and the same place where The Turning after party was held the following night.

Thanks so much to One Fell Swoop for dressing me for the premiere, I LOVE every piece in their collection and it is definitely my go to designer of choice so I was very lucky to wear them for both the TFH and The Turning premieres!

I also Costume Designed one of the 17 shorts, entitled ‘Abbreviation’ as part of ‘The Turning’ a film by Robert Connolly and based on Tim Winton’s book by the same name which premiered the following evening, on Saturday night at an exclusive gala where I rubbed shoulders with the likes of Hugo Weaving and Snowtown writer, Shaun Grant.. Our short was Produced by Liz Kearney, Directed by Jub Clerc and also featured bathers by Bikini Atoll. The Turning is due for cinema release on September 26th, look here for more info.

Follow me on inspo gram for more of the action and my Hugo Weaving selfie haha @stylevoyeur

‘Til next time,
