The beautiful people were out in full force last night for the launch of Bruug Clothing, a new online fashion brand designed by WA WAG, Natasha Butler. I HATE the term WAG but last night Butler proved it was something to be proud of, attracting the cream of the young, vibrant, gorgeous and enthused WA athletic crop to the Carillon City capsule event. Butler brings a fresh perspective to what my usual idea of a WAG clothing label would be like. Her collection offers a clean, simplistic, edgy and luxury-for-less feel to the WA fashion market – a well received addition indeed! If even a small percentage of her fellow WAGs (and Perth fashion punters alike) take heed of Bruug’s satorial charm, frankly, WA fashion will be better for it.
Her speech was incredibly charming. I have never cared so much about someone’s thank you’s before, her passion is palapable. Natasha credits her husband, West Cost Eagles player Sam Butler for keeping her sane throughout this journey and on reflection of the multitude of creative ideas she has had over the years, mentioned out loud, “I think this one is gonna stick babe.” Let’s hope it does because Bruug Clothing is a much-needed, affordable addition to the WA fashion industry, and thankfully it is now available online…
