Out of Focus

jaimeleefont1 - Copy.gifSince Jaime Lee graduated in 2008 from the WA School of Art, Design and Media with an Advanced Diploma in Fashion & Textile Design, I have been working with the designer to help establish her brand.

Last week we shot the campaign for her new full range Spring/Summer 2010/11 collection – ‘Out of Focus’ – with fabulous fashion photographer, Thom Kerr.

Like myself, Thom is all about supporting talented, forward thinking young designers to help establish themselves within the often harsh and mostly volatile fashion industry. He graciously made the trip from over east to Perth and helped create what I now consider to be the most exciting, awe-inspiring work I have been involved in to date.

Jaime Lee’s collection highlights her out-of-this-world aesthetic. Her explosively colourful digitally printed artwork on fabric has been worked to create garments that are
wearable art pieces.

IMG_9343.JPGIMG_9349.JPGThe campaign shoot will be released nationally through various publications, starting in Perth and it is a chance for the public to experience a moment inside the heads of two creative geniuses from Australia.

The day was filmed by Laure Bernard and Gerry LaFerla for BrainChild Productions and we were all interviewed for a piece that will be revealed on screen in months to come.
It was a thoroughly inspiring experience and of course Style Voyeur was there to capture all of the action.

SV presents a behind-the-scenes look at Jaime Lee – Spring/Summer 2010/11 collection.

Totally on trend for the scuba/surf/underwater inspired high fashion daywear look getting hot for SS 2010/11.
I am obsessed. Think rashies as tops, pop coloured wetsuit shorts or pants worn on the street with stacked heels, sleek accessories and now Jaime Lee’s digital prints worn to maximum effect!

IMG_9360.JPGOne of my favourite pieces for a more sophisticated individual. Extremely original and quite different from Jaime’s previous work.

This is my favourite piece in the collection- The Big Bird Jacket – worn by the ever so beautiful, Sarah C.
We couldn’t have chosen a more perfect model for this campaign!

Look out for stockists of Jaime Lee to be advised soon.
