Skattwalk 2009

Perth’s biggest hair and make-up fashion show returned last night for it’s fifth year running.

Skattwalk shows that hair and make-up can be as much of a fashion statement as the clothes we wear and Skatt founder Lisa Grinceri is proving this to Western Australia with her vastly publicised annual event.

“The talent and creativity of our local fashion scene is just amazing. I wanted to create something to give these brilliant individuals the exposure they deserve.” Says Lisa.

All power to her and the Skatt team for giving emerging W.A. creatives such a great opportunity!

Tune in to A Current Affair on Monday evening Channel 9 at 6:30pm to see the story they are doing on Skattwalk!

Fashion vs Fiction.

Skattwalk is far more theatrical than a ‘usual’ fashion show. It may be non-traditional, however there is no harm in a bit of magic, dancing or superhero action on the runway. The dancers from Bounce were particularly great.

I have had this strange feeling for some reason a while now that the ‘Kath and Kim kitsch’ look is going to come in-fashion sooner or later. The look above is in support of this theory. Think thongs adorned with bananas and mandarine neck chains. Disagree? We’ll just have to wait and see.
