I thought the title of this show was rather apt last night, not only because of the fact that New Zealand is literally that distance apart from Perth and the two New Zealand designers shown on the runway last night – Zambesi and Nom*D were put together with two WA labels – One Fell Swoop and Morrison, to show two different collections from across the pond – but it was mostly apt because 3,300 miles apart is roughly the distance my brain feels from reality right now. Such goes with the turf of fashion week in Perf 😉
I arrived late after shooting model’s tests (photos for a model’s portfolio) during the day and organising an event I’m producing called City Street Style and missed first looks, however on their way out I managed to capture this beautiful image above of models Rachel, Fabienne and friend in hot pink from the wonderful local label One Fell Swoop. Just in time to catch the madness backstage, one must go on.

Zambesi and Nom*D hail from New Zealand and are cult brands, most popular amongst the more chic of cool kids. Above is a look from Zambesi who offered up navy blue sequin accents, dark hues, sheer fabrics and paired their looks with Converse sneakers

Every shade of bright orange at Nom*D – madness backstage between changes is always guaranteed

A model saves time between changes by jumping under the railing to get back to her dresser, then runs for dear life in a wearable outfit that could be likened to that of your eccentric school principal from the knees down

You can’t wear stockings with exposed toed shoes but according to Nom*D you can if they’re socks – duly noted
