Style Voyeur was invited to the casting of One Fell Swoop’s upcoming Spring Summer 2014 presentation where fresh faced models strutted their stuff for a chance to appear alongside International Supermodel Bambi Northwood-Blyth who’s flying into town tomorrow to open the Tuesday night show.
The brief on casting day was fresh faces to highlight designers Daniel Romanin and Nikolina Ergic’s fresh new take on the One Fell Swoop aesthetic. In a move away from the heavily layered ensembles as seen in previous collections, the duo will offer up some more wearable pieces whilst still keeping the signature OFS lines and divine drapery.
The casting panel – made up of designer Daniel Romanin, event producer Jacqui Brown and hair director, Marie Cain of Head Studio didn’t have to look far to find them. With Perth’s reputation of producing International top models, these new girls (and a few you may have seen as chosen by me) from the likes of Vivien’s Model Management, Chadwick Models and Scene, didn’t disappoint.
So fresh and so clean I can’t place the first model standing next to Evelyn Leckie from Scene, Hannah Collard from Chadwick and Dylann Cranswick from Vivien’s.
From the digi shots taken on the day, Style Voyeur has selected a shortlist of what I consider the creme of the crop and as I will be exclusively blogging from backstage during the show, you won’t have to wait too long to find out who made the One Fell Swoop cut (pun intended). So watch this space but in the mean time check out some of Perth’s new models in the making! Some are so fresh and so clean I don’t even know how to find their names haha. Jess PW from Vivien’s who is not featured here, is touted as one to watch, with interest from agencies in New York and Tuesday will mark the first ever show she has walked in.
If you are lucky enough to be attending, look out for the laneway next to Esprit where you should be able to spot a Silvana coffee cart complete and sexy baristas offering up cups of warm joe before we all take our steps, many steps that is, to see the catwalk inside the Old Carillon City Cinema – not in use since 1993. I must say I am really looking forward to seeing, what Jacqui Brown is calling, this very ‘unassuming space.’ And of course, I cannot wait to see the collection by my FAVOURITE WA design duo! Good luck lovers, not that you’ll need it!
Gabby Meys and Chanel Caldwell from Chadwick and Tiggy Ridgway from Vivien’s.
Mickaela Blazevich from Chadwick, Ali Caldwell from Vivien’s, Jessi Simpson from Chadwick, Narcisa Music from Scene and Rachel Maher from Chadwick Models. If you know the names of the missing models, holla at me 🙂
