Nicolas, what were your top 5 stand-out moments at the fall/winter shows this season?

1. Alber Elbaz singing < Oue serra, serra > at the end of his show for Lanvin, inviting the guests to enjoy a fun party celebrating his 10 years at Lanvin. There was poetry in the air and the show was fantastic.

2. Another singer story! Alicia Keys singing < New York > during the Givenchy after show party. I didn’t even notice she was there before she began to sing, up on a coffee table.

3. Stefano Pilati presenting his last show at Yves Saint Laurent. It was a bit sad. Heidi Slimane is very awaited.

4. The Louis Vuitton show. A magic set.

5. The beaded outfits at Balmain were very impressive. Très couture. Très Paris.

Do you have any fashion woes, anything you don’t like that’s happening at Paris Fashion week at the moment? Oui ! The champagne offered at 10:00am rather than a black coffee.

Who is your current favourite model (apart from your fave Kate Moss, of course)? I have seen a lot of new girls this season, even during the shows known for their top models mafia casting, like Balmain, Chanel or Isabel Marant. It was inspiring. I love French model Aymeline Valade, Karlie Kloss is incredible on a catwalk. Mariacarla Boscono is still very inspiring.

More Givenchy

Any gossip you can share with us people on the other side of the world? I am not a gossip man but I am going to tell you something I heard because it is significant of a certain Parisian behaviour. It is a bit tough. I heard that Stefano Pilati, at his arrival at Yves Saint Laurent with Tom Ford, wrote < Yves Saint-Laurent > rather than <Yves Saint Laurent > it made the YSL staff a bit derisive.

Ok, I heard that Katie Perry is dating Karl Lagerfeld’s muse, Baptiste Giabiconi and that she was not considered by some designers as a perfect guest.

What does a typical day in the life of Nicolas Tavitian at fashion week involve? I don’t get to go to A LOT of shows (about 10 per fashion week) but it involves a good energy and my camera.

You and I have become quite good friends over the years Nicolas, next time I come to Paris will you show me a good time? Next time you come to Paris I want you to bring something in your suitcase. Through Style Voyeur, some years ago I discovered something I had never seen before. It made me very curious. Something which could be metaphorical actually because it is the blend of something very Australian and something very French, symbolizing a happy time; the hibiscus flower in a glass of Champagne.

SO, next time you come to France, bring these red flowers and I will bring the Champagne!

Cheers les amis and vive la vie!

ALL PHOTOS WERE TAKEN BY NICOLAS TAVITIAN EXCLUSIVELY FOR STYLE VOYEUR – Merci beaucoup!!
