Aside from it’s obvious association with rock and the legions of alt. kids who’s wardrobes basically start and end with customised leather – For this winter ’08/’09 the leather jacket has been a major trend in fashion.
It is the vital piece in a model’s ‘relaxed cool’ uniform and has shown up most notably on runways at Christopher Kane and Givenchy. Now it is plain to see that the look has extended to the streets – in full force. If you are anything like me you would have noticed almost anywhere you go lately – the leather jacket is being rocked by everyone from your 14 year old sister to the friendly local vicar who lives down the road (well almost).Set yourself apart from the pack with a soft leather version either cropped at the waist or cuffed at the sleeve.
Davina said she ‘chucked on some thongs because it was sunny when I left home’ – available from Sportsgirl. Her jacket is by White Suede, bag and sunglasses are Chanel and jeans by Gorman.
I usually ask people to describe their style but often find the response is more or less a cliche’, Pip’s answer however was anything but mundane – “My look is Art Deco meets 1920’s Japanese mod”. It may sound like an oxymoron by hey it’s cool enough for me.She wears Deborah Sweeny dress, jacket from Gorman, glasses are Klink bought in Melbourne and her bag is by Vivienne Westwood.
